Ethel Irwin was a famous local singer. It is said she studied with some of the great singers of the day.
The announcement card indicates she gave "musicales," probably at her parent's home on 12th Street.
Her father was publisher of the Brookville Democrat from 1891 to June 1932 when he died. Ethel's mother was
Adelia Cory. Mrs. Cory managed the paper and later Ethel managed it until 1943. |
