The Brookville Band is posed in front of the old Civil War cannon that had been placed on the monument to honor General P.A. Hackleman, the only Civil War general from the State of Indiana killed in the war.   Hackleman was born in a log cabin south of Brookville, near the river.
The band played for various holiday celebrations such as Decoration Day held on May 30.   They can also be seen in the "GAR and Brookville Band" web page marching with Civil War veterans.
