| Text : | Theodore N. Thorpe, wife and seven blacksmith sons settled in Metamora. In 1858, attaching a cottage to the rear of the blacksmith shop, to live in, he and his family left Pennsylvania to go to the California gold fields, but never got any further than Metamora. |
