William Gordon chartered as a private the Farmers
Bank
in 1910 operating out of Gordon Hall. Henry
Lennard
was a partner and cashier. In 1923,
this free
standing
building was built to house the Farmers
Bank. The original safe still stands inside. This bank
was
robbed in 1930 and 1922. The bank
failed in
the
depression and was liquidated in 1942..
