Old Fairfield School

 The school site and that of the entire town is now covered by the waters of Brookville Lake.  The original school was long gone when this photo was taken.  This school taught all eight grades in several rooms.  At one time, an attempt was made to have a four-year accredited high school in this little village, but I don’t believe that very much ever came of it.  SNIDER, PERSONETT, LOPER, KELLY, LUKER, GLAUB, KLEIN, DAVIS, and LINEGAR are some of the family names on the school roster over the years.  Wilbur LEE, recently deceased, taught here for a number of years.
