Minneman School

Located on the Southgate-St. Peter Road, this fortress like structure, made of field stone, appears much the same as it did more than fifty years ago when it was the seat of learning for the neighborhood children. Unused for many years, it now houses a family probably unaware of its pedagogic past.
Family names appearing on the school roster include these: VENTER, RAUSCH, MINNEMAN, BENEKER, HEFFLER, RUSSELL, HOFFMAN, FASSOLD, BOHL, KING, GESELL, QUANTE, and WOOTEN.
Among the teachers who held forth here were Ezra GESELL and Leroy GESELL.
