Metamora
School

This
old school is no more. Built of cement,
brick, and stucco, it sat on a bluff overlooking the old part of town. For a period of several years, it supported a
two-year high school, but the efforts to create an accredited four-year high school failed
about 1930, and most of the student body was transferred to Brookville. Cora HARROP STENGER was one of those who taught
there for a time. Mrs. STEGNER presently
lives in retirement at her home on Main Street.
