In 1895-96, this frame building was erected, the third to carry the name.  It served the community well for many years, but in 1938, it ceased to exist as a place of learning.  It was placed on the market by the township trustee, and, at an auction, it was purchased by the congregation of the Old Franklin Church.  The Church maintained the building and used it as a community center until it was purchased by the government.  The government purchased it and the ground upon which it sat for the purpose of developing the area into the recreational area it has become.

Some of the families who made up the student body over the years were the BEESLEYS, WATTERSONS, DAVISES, TEMPLETONS and MULLINS.  Mrs. Hazel Mullin KLEIN, a long time teacher in the Franklin County school systems, attended classes here.
